Bartlett Electric Cooperative, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a Geographic Information System (GIS) Technician. This position is responsible for assisting the Engineering staff with the development and maintenance of the GIS database for BEC.  This position is also responsible for converting staking designs, civil plans and land base records into geospatial format in GIS for infrastructure construction projects.

Associate degree or technical degree in Computer Science, Geoscience, Surveying, Geography, Engineering, or a closely related field is preferred, but not required. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Engineering with at least one (1) year at GIS Technician classification or equivalent. Survey or Staking Technician certification may substitute for experience.

Bartlett Electric Cooperative, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist. This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of the GIS database for BEC. This individual must already understand and be able to successfully perform the Essential Functions of a BEC GIS Technician position.

B.S. or B.A. degree in geographic information systems, geography, planning, landscaping architecture, civil engineering, or a related field is required. Equivalent experience may substitute at BEC’s discretion. Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible GIS-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. GISP Certification and/or ESRI Certification is preferred, but not required.

Bartlett Electric Cooperative, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified candidate for an Operations Supervisor position in BEC’s Power Department.  This position is one of high responsibility for reliable, economical system planning for growth and for ensuring system constructions is performed safely, to applicable specification, codes, and satisfaction of the public.

Position requires a Class A CDL, as well as certification in Pole Climbing, Bucket Truck Rescue training, Journeyman Lineman training and experience, and Forklift training.  A minimum of six (6) years of line work experience (overhead and underground), of which the most recent twelve months have been at a BEC Operations Foreman level, its equivalent, or above is required.

Bartlett Electric Cooperative, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified candidate for Broadband Apprentice Plant Technician position.   The Broadband Apprentice Plant Technician typically works indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

The Broadband Apprentice Plant Technician will participate with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of overhead and underground fiber optics and communications equipment.  The Broadband Apprentice Plant Technician possesses the knowledge and experience to handle these tasks on overhead and underground powerlines and powerline equipment.

The Broadband Apprentice Plant Technician will also participate in trimming, clearing, chipping, and/or chemically treating trees and/or brush along the rights-of-way, ensuring accurate completion of required forms, reports, and other documentation.

Bartlett Electric Cooperative, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a Broadband Design Technician position. The Broadband Design Technician assists the BEC Communications Department in providing pre-construction contacts, contracts, easements, planning, and design for reliable, safe and economical line extensions, removals, changes, improvements, and maintenance.

A BEC Broadband Design Technician must possess a working knowledge of Geometry and Trigonometry to determine line angles and strain loading.   A working knowledge of surveying and designing routine overhead and underground fiber line and knowledge of fiber distribution, including strand and buffer tube counts, splicing, light loss factors, splitters, splice enclosures, and interpretation of connection diagrams is necessary.
