Load Shed Letter from BEC

The Customer Protection Rules of the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) provide that certain members may be eligible for designation as Critical Care or Chronic Condition Customer (Residential) or a Critical Load
Public Safety or Critical Load Industrial Customer (Non-Residential).

Please be aware that this designation does not guarantee an uninterrupted, regular, or continuous power supply. If electricity is a necessity, you must make other arrangements for on-site back-up capabilities or other
alternatives in the event of loss of electric service.

For more information regarding eligibility, please see the Customer Protection Rules for Electric Service (https://www.opuc.texas.gov/index.php/consumer-protection/).

Critical Load

Our Critical Load Program is a registry of nonresidential service locations that can be classified as public safety, industrial, or natural gas infrastructure, and have an approved Critical Load Program application with BEC.
When planned outages or service interruptions for nonpayment are scheduled, we will attempt to provide advance notice so preparations can be made.
For unplanned outages, BEC will prioritize Critical Load Program participants for restoration as much as practicable.
